Mr. Ryan's Report

Term 3 is well and truly underway with lots of exciting events on the calendar. This Friday, Avoca and Calder will go head-to-head in the House Athletics. Even if athletics isn’t your sport, this is a whole-school event, and your attendance is expected. There will be plenty of activities and roles to be involved with on the day, so bring along your house spirit and get ready for a great day!

Next week, the Year 9 students will travel to the Holocaust Museum in Melbourne as part of their English studies and also take part in a Road Smart workshop. With so many events happenings throughout the term, don’t forget to keep checking the school calendar for updates.

Around the school, Year 9 and 10 PE classes were fortunate to hear from Australian Paralympic rower Alexandra Viney. Her presentation focused on resilience, as she shared the many challenges she has faced and how she overcame them to achieve her goals, both in life and in sport.

What's happening in Year 9:

What we are looking forward to this term:

Year 9's are really looking forward to Grampians Camp - here they are looking for inspiration around the school yard to practice their hiking!

Stella: This term I am most looking forward to Athletics, for a fun day with my friends and to push myself throughout the day as I am the only one in my age group. I am also very excited for Grampians camp, to go for a nice little hike and see some views with my classmates.

Murphy: This term I am most looking forward to doing Tafe on Friday. Finishing my coffee table in wood then being able to make my own creation. In metal I'm looking forward to welding and using the oxy.

Jordan: This term I am most looking forward to Athletics, for a fun day with my friends and winning shot put and trying to win anything I can in my abilities. Grampians camp will be fun I will enjoy hiking with all the boys and maybe rock climbing.

Erin: This term I am most looking forward to holidays because I can’t wait for Christmas the holidays after.

Owen: In metal I'm looking forward to welding and using the oxy.
