Thanks for returning the ICT forms which has enabled us as a class to begin using some great technology in earnest in class. I-Pads were introduced as part of our Independent Learning groups in Literacy. Our students used a great website, ABCYa kids, to learn about design and creativity. Some of their creations are above. We will explore lots of different activities via this platform throughout the term.

What a brilliant time we had on our first ever excursion from school, visiting Scienceworks this week! Our students explored the many exhibition areas where all things Science were at play. Designing future cars, understanding the importance of eco systems, visiting a space ship were some of the experiences the children had. We also watched a fantastic show in the Lightning Theatre, where students got to learn about the weather; how clouds form, what static electricity is and how lightning and thunder occur. A fantastic day, and a big shout out to the Year 1's for joining us and Giulia for organising such a great learning experience.

Visual Arts

As part of the reading of the Rainbow Fish, a story about friendship and what is necessary to be a good friend to others, the students are creating their own Rainbow Fish artwork, including the background, the main characters and other features, Stay tuned for next week's reveal!

Next Friday, 8th August, we will be celebrating one hundred days of school, with plenty of fun activities for the children to enjoy. It's remarkable the progress I have seen in these young stars from their beginning, 100 days ago!

Year 1

Another busy week we have had in Year 1.

Last Thursday we celebrated 100 days of Learning. We had a fun filled day of activities al based around the number 100. Counting out 100 objects by 10s, using our imagination to create things with 100 objects. We also wrote about what we would do with $100. Come and have a read of what we wrote outside our classroom.

Plushie day was also so much fun!

Year 2/3

Hi All,

We had a FANTASTIC week with Plushy Day, Class Mass and Parent Teacher Meetings. It was so wonderful chatting to all the parents. Thank you for being so AMAZING. The children have been enjoying learning the ukulele. Here are some photos.

Plushy day!

On Tuesday we had plushy day, when you can bring a plushie of your choice or you could also bring  3 dollars so that you can buy chips, drinks and chocolates from the staff room. In my class when we were eating we went in a circle and talked about our plushy’s and why we picked them. We had a lot of fun showing and sharing our plushies. There were a lot of different sizes and styles!  By Georgia

On Tuesday 29th July, we had  plushy day. It was so fun and we got to see other people's Plushies. I had Miffy and I was so excited. I grabbed 3 dollars and I brought mini chocolates which I ate, it was so yummy. I love that there were lots of plushies.  We had so much fun and we had to show and tell of our plushies.  By Suzie

Plushy day was so fun we spoke about what it meant to us. My plushy’s name is Daffy. It is special for me because my mom gave it to me when she came back to Colombia to bring me back to Australia.  We took photos of them. By Martin

Welcome back to term 3!

It has been a fantastic and productive start to the term, with students settling in really well.

At the start of this week, students from Foundation-6 began their Earth and Space unit for Inquiry. Students in 5/6 started by sharing what they already knew about this topic, which was super impressive!

There has been a great amount of engagement and interest around this topic, and I am looking forward to sharing with you all the learning that occurs over the term!
