Year 4 Learning

English

In English, Year 4 have been developing their writing skills by exploring informative texts. They have been learning how to structure their writing with clear introductions, topic sentences, examples, and subheadings to organise their ideas effectively. Students have enjoyed researching different countries, locating and summarising key information to include in their writing pieces. They have shown great enthusiasm when sharing interesting facts they have discovered. To conclude the unit, each student will create a project on a country of their choice and present a speech to showcase their learning with the class. 

Geography 

In Geography, Year 4 has been focusing on the study of natural characteristics of Australia and other places in the world. The students have been working collaboratively when researching about the climate, natural vegetation and native animals in various countries. They are learning to locate and summarise key information during each lesson. The students have done an exceptional job of working as a team and taking on various roles! 

Mathematics

In Mathematics warm ups, year 4 have been revisiting key concepts from throughout the year. They have been focusing on place value and multiplication. Using mini whiteboards and hands-on manipulatives, students are actively engaging with the material and strengthening their understanding.
