Principal Address

Dear families,

Thanks to everyone who came to chapel this morning, and the subsequent watermelon eating competition right after. It was so, so much fun. A huge thank you to Mr Coronado, Pastor Ethan and the Year 5’s for organising such a wonderful chapel. The watermelon eating was probably the most fun I’ve ever had—thank you to all who participated, it was amazing! These photos don’t do it justice. It was a joy to see families laughing together and kids cheering their dads on.

As we head into Father’s Day, I want to take a moment to honour all the dads and father figures in our community. Fathers play such a unique role in serving, protecting, and uplifting their children. The way a dad provides safety, encouragement, and joy leaves a lasting mark on their lives. I pray that this weekend is a blessing for you and your families. At the same time, we also acknowledge that Father’s Day can be difficult. For those who have experienced loss, distance, or complicated relationships, please know that we honour that too and we stand with you in it.

This morning at chapel I shared about the love of the Father from Luke 15, the story of the prodigal son. What amazes me every time is the picture of the father—watching and waiting, and then running to meet his son with open arms. That’s what our Heavenly Father is like. He doesn’t sit back in disappointment, He comes to us, He pursues us, and He wraps us up in His love. This is the truth of the Gospel—that God is good, that He loves His children, and that His arms are always open wide.

So as we celebrate this Father’s Day at HPCS, may we give thanks for the dads in our lives, may we find comfort in the love of our Heavenly Father, and may we remember together just how faithful and good God is.

Have a blessed day on Sunday!

Congratulations to Jeremiah Wilson and the family on the birth of Jairus Isaiah Wilson, we are thankful to God that he is here and he is well.

My door is always open,
