Italiano 2023
L’anno che e’ stato – “The year that was”
What a fantastic year in Italian it has been. There has been such great learning that has happened in all year levels, not to mention our COHR Italian Day in June and more recently our Specialist Day in November.
This year our junior students were introduced to the Early Learning Languages Program (ELLA) where the Italian language they were taught in class transferred to interactive iPad Apps to assist them practice and consolidate the learning. Our Year 3 and 4 students worked on asking and answering simple questions and have begun to transfer the spoken language to written by creating simple sentences. They have enjoyed presenting their learning to each other throughout this year using google slides.
Our senior students have focused on functional language and how it is used in everyday situations. This has been in both the oral and written form with a particular focus on grammar. To showcase their learning the Year 5 and 6 students created their own picture books for the younger students in our school. Here are some photos taken throughout the year of our wonderful COHR students during Italian.
Buon Natale to all the students and families at COHR. I look forward in seeing you all in the new year. To our year 6 students, I wish all the best and in particular with your future language learning in secondary school.
Grazie
