GS Shooters

The ‘Shooters’ last three games have both been highly engaging and hard-fought contests, with players highlighting their continued improvement. In each game we jumped out to handy early leads, scoring baskets and pressuring the opposition into handy turnovers. As the games wore on the opposition threw everything at us and managed to get within striking distance. Showing grit and composure we were able to hold on to two of these games to claim successive victories by 1 and 4 points, losing our last game by just 3 points. Edward Robinson has been a dominant force for the Shooters, scoring a combined 41 points over these last three games, and his willingness to attack the basket with ferocity, poise and skill has been a joy to witness. Lastly, Ronil Chopra deserves a special mention for his huge ‘all net’ basket at a key moment of the game. Well done Ronil!

GS Raptors

Despite the opposition getting out to a very quick 0-10 lead, the GS Raptors settled and fought back to secure a 33-30 win.  The win elevated the Raptors into 4th spot on the ladder and secured the team a Semi Final next week.  Oscar played a courageous game.  After injuring his hand very early in the match, he insisted on playing the remainder of the game which went a long way in helping the team win.  The Raptors will face the undefeated Golden Grove LPS Stars next week with the winner advancing to the Grand Final.

Scorers: Jayden (19 pts), Oscar (12 pts), Blake (2 pts)

GS Stars

Even with the competition heating up, the GS Stars never gave up! Facing our toughest competition yet, the team worked really hard. The collective efforts in the centre third proved a force to be reckoned with and the girls just kept on keeping on and trying their best. Aniko, Harla and Harriet did some amazing defence work in the second half, Clara and Grace were strong in the centre court and Matilda and Amelia brought it home with some precision shooting. Oh and those stretches during our pre-game warm up looked pretty professional too girls. Great job team!
