Lutheran Care 12 Days of Giving

Thank you all for your donations. We are so proud of our school community coming together to help others in need, what a difference your kindness will make for many families doing it tough this Christmas.

Please keep an eye on our Facebook page where we'll provide updates each Saturday for the following week of items that are still low in the pantry.

While Lutheran Care are listing 12 different items to be collected over the 12 Days of Giving, we understand that some families may not be able to stretch their budget this far and we are grateful for any donations you are able to give.

Growing Faith at Home

Happy New Year everyone! (No, I’m not getting ahead of myself.) This weekend marks the beginning of the new church year. We begin with the season of Advent... A time of looking forward to Christmas (when Jesus came to us as a baby) and also the time when Jesus will return... How about making your very own Advent calendar? Check out this week’s GFH resource for some thoughtful and practical ideas to prepare for Christmas! (There are 5 pages to this. If you would like a printed copy, just ask!)

Enjoy!

Blessings, Georgie.

Spin Camp

Do you like camping and sharing time with other people who like to have fun? Here’s an idea! SPIN is a four-day, three-night, statewide camp in January for young people in years 4-6 (in 2023) to experience an inclusive and encouraging community and grow in relationship with Jesus and others.

This year’s theme is ‘Wanted’. Significant sponsorship is offered to first time campers by the LLL (You just pay $50). For those who have attended this camp before, Good Shepherd church offers a subsidy, just ask Georgie. The camp is held at Camp Kedron, Barmera (Riverland SA). For more information, contact Georgie here, then head to SPIN to register.

Coffee and Connect

Just letting you know that we won’t be gathering for Coffee and Connect this Friday in the church café... However, you might like to invite a friend to a nearby café or playground and enjoy catching up there instead!

Blessings,

Georgie

Christmas is coming to Good Shepherd!

Preparations are well underway for our upcoming Community Carol evening. Many thanks to those who responded to Chris Jaensch’s invitation to be part of his item!

We are also looking forward to hearing from the school choir that evening. Thank you to Ms McAleer for organising this.

I am still interested in hearing from people who would like to be part of our 5:30pm Christmas Eve Family Service. If you would like to be part of this, please let me know or send me an email here.

Blessings, Georgie

KAPS Recap

We started our celebrations a little early on Sunday with our Christmas in November themed KAPS event. We created Christmas decorations, iced honey biscuits, experienced worship together (with a live band) and finished the evening with a meal. All in all, a lot of fun!

While this was our final KAPS for the year... we are excited to share that we will be back on again next year, starting in March!

God bless you all this Christmas!

Rachel and Georgie
