This term I was fortunate to attend the Autism Inclusion Teacher Conference at the UCity Function Centre.
The program for the day included workshops and opportunities to collaborate, share and explore topics including action research, anxiety and collaboration in the context of this important initiative for our state.
It was a privilege to have the opportunity to connect with other AITs and to listen to a range of guest speakers.
Recently, I have facilitated a professional development workshop for staff based on parts of the learning that I undertook earlier in the year through Positive Partnerships. The focus of the learning was sensory processing and universal design for learning.
This week, I have sent out consent forms and information to families of students who have been selected to participate in the upcoming WEC focus group. If you would like for your child to participate, then please return the consent form to the front office by not later than Monday morning 27 November.
Focus groups allow students an opportunity to share their perceptions and understanding about what the WEC data means, and what they want to see happen to improve their experience of wellbeing at school.
Information shared by students will be used by the school to identify and create wellbeing initiatives that are meaningful for students.
