Sports Day 2023

AIM HIGH

Thanks for taking part in Jump Rope for Heart this year!

Together Lockleys North Primary School has raised $4,499. There were 62 students who raised funds and became heart heroes and we completed 68 hours of skipping.

The whole school jump-off was such a great way to begin our Sports Day and everyone got into the team spirit!

The Heart Foundation is very thankful for the incredible support in getting our students skipping and raising funds. The funds we have raised will help support innovative heart research and programs that are transforming Australian lives.

Prizes and certificates will follow shortly after Friday 24th November.

Brian Captains Sports Day Recap

In Week 4 on Thursday, we had Sports Day.  It was a day full of fun. We started off the day by taking part in the health hustle, which got us all warmed up for the big day, and ready for our events.

After that, we started our jump rope for heart skip-off, everyone went off to their locations and started skipping. After this, we went into our first tabloid event which took us up to Recess. During recess, there was a bake sale and a slushy machine available for anyone to purchase goodies from. Everything tasted supreme!

When recess was over we had four tabloid events for all classes. For Fisher, we had games like long jump, high jump, and hip hip hooray hula hoop games. For Torrens, there were sprints, and tug of war. Mellor had catch and bob relay, as well as hungry frogs. Rowell had lots of fun doing activities with parachutes and jump-around games.

Throughout the whole day, there was a leader's board which was regularly updated after every event. Everyone was crowding around the board to see who was winning. Lunchtime arrived and most people were eating subways that were delicious. After lunch, all students had to meet at their designated coloured tent, every colour was cheering very loudly for their team. This is when we started championship sprints and was the first year we also had a parent sprint which was super fun to watch. This was followed by the famous tug-of-war between the senior students, parents and staff.

We then had another team chant, one more chance to earn a few extra points before the relay.

Then the winners were then decided. Mrs Mirjana announced that Brian had won, they had done it, and gained the victory for 2023. Runner-up placements included; Grallina 2nd, Malurus 3rd and Pierson 4th. All teams did their best, and all their efforts and perseverance made this Sports Day one to remember.

Brian Captains Speech

Great sports day this year, amazing job to all teams and a great job to Brian coming out on top. I loved seeing everybody show all the school values and learner qualities this year, mostly respect as well as care and concern as even though people were separate teams, they still showed great sportsmanship and encouragement to the other teams that were not as fortunate as others were. Good job to all teams that participated and gave it their all this year, this could be you next year.

We would like to thank everyone who helped make sports day possible this year , Including Mr Smith and Ms Brynes for setting up all the activities, as well as the sports day committee. A big shout out to all sports day captains for encouraging all students to do their best and to the girls who helped put the Health Hustle together, it was really good and helped warm all teams up for the big day. We all put in so much effort to make today a success so we should all be super proud of ourselves.

We would just like to say how much effort all teams put in today. As well as all team captains, your effort is definitely awesome and appreciated. Today showed a lot of the school values like being collaborative with your teammates or resilience with trying new things, and learner qualities, including pursuit of excellence when things were getting challenging.

You should all be very proud of this. All right Brian!!! We did so well this year and we won sports day well done . We should all be very proud of ourselves. We were brilliant today. We had great confidence by giving it our best shot.  All of our work paid off and we should all be very proud.

Thank you to all of the teams that were participating this year and keep working hard and trying your best in the upcoming years. We would like all of you to leave the school in a respectful manner and pick up all the rubbish that you can see.

Everyone: GO BRIANNNNNN !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! WooOOOOOOOOoooHHHHHHOooooo
