Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL)

I had the privilege of participating in Dr. Michiko Weinmann’s project at Deakin University during my studies. This collaboration involved working with students from the Karlsruhe University of Education in Germany on a platform called Mural, focusing on the approach known as Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL).

CLIL is a forward-thinking teaching method where a foreign language serves as the medium of instruction for general curriculum topics. It encompasses the 4Cs framework: integrating subject content, communication, intercultural awareness, and cognitive development of students.

Together, we have established an international community based on CLIL, where we support each other, share knowledge, resonate with diverse perspectives, and embrace challenges. It's been enlightening to observe how different educational systems adapt the CLIL approach. On Monday, 4th of December, we had the opportunity to present our experiences with CLIL at the Modern Language Teachers' Association of Victoria (MLTAV) conference.
