Hello from our teachers and students

Respect, Responsibility and Kindness

Hello from 4/5 W

Well it has been a very busy term... and as Miss Wadley sits writing this, there are 22 days left until the end of term! Woo hoo!! (This includes weekends).

Over the past few weeks we have been very busy completing lots of assessments, which has made us a little tired.

When we haven't been busy completing assessments, in math we have been creating graphs. Miss Wadley encouraged us to think of a creative question to ask our peers. We then had to turn our data into a graph. It was extra challenging as the graph needed to be created on blank paper rather than grid paper. Here is what we made:

In writing, we have begun a unit on poetry. We are exploring different types of poetry such as shape, cinquain and haiku. Here are some poems we wrote based on different animals:

And lastly, in inquiry we have been studying Indigenous Australians, learning all about their rich history on topics such as a timeline of events, language, teachings from The Dreamings including totems, food and shelter.

On Monday this week, Miss Wadley challenged us to make a shelter using newspaper and tape. Some students became creative- using other materials from both inside and outside. The inside crew used book boxes, books and other heavy things to help hold their huts together. While the outside students were using leaves, large branches and trees to help make a hut. Here is some pictures from the fun we had!
