Victorian U14 Boys SHINE at National Futsal Tournament - Dut Riak
After six weeks of dedicated training, Dut and his team proudly represented Victoria at the National Futsal Tournament. Dut’s Coach, Sachin stated that throughout the lead-up, Dut showed great determination and commitment by having strong resilience and a positive attitude. As the weeks progressed, Dut’s focus and teamwork improved noticeably. He became more consistent in training, demonstrated strong defensive skills, and brought great energy and enthusiasm to every session. His confidence grew both on and off the court, and by the time the tournament arrived, Dut had developed into a reliable and passionate team player who gave his all for his teammates.
The team started strong with a 5–5 draw against NSW and went on to win most of their games, including an incredible 24–2 victory. Finishing second overall, they demonstrated outstanding teamwork, determination, and sportsmanship throughout the competition.
Justine Carolan, Dut’s mother, shared that Dut is very modest about his achievements, but he played exceptionally well during the tournament. The team made it all the way to the finals, ultimately finishing as runners-up after a tough match against Central Coast NSW. Across the tournament, they recorded 5 wins, 2 losses, and 1 draw—a fantastic effort! A highlight for Dut was attending the presentation ceremony at Dreamworld, which was an unforgettable experience. To top it all off, Dut has been selected to play for the Australian U15 Boys Futsal Team next year in New Zealand—a tremendous honour and a reflection of his hard work and talent.
Congratulations to Dut once again on his outstanding efforts and achievements, and we wish him the very best of luck as he prepares to represent Victoria in New Zealand.

Intermediate Boys Regional Table Tennis UPDATE!
Last Thursday, Lyndale's Year 10 boys performed very well at the Regional Inter Boys Table Tennis competition at Dandenong Table Tennis Association. They placed third for the final result!
They had a fierce fight with Melbourne High boys in their first round. They were so close to victory of two double matches. Unfortunately, they lost 2 to 3. The victory was also very close in the match with Dromana College during their second round. Henil performed really well in both single and double matches. Lyndale beat Cranbourne East SC in our last match. All boys showed amazing fighting spirit and sportsmanship.
Well done to our table tennis team for giving it their best! Thanks to Mr. Liu for taking the boys out for sport.
On Thursday 9th of October, 22 athletes from our regional team competed with determination and resilience at the Casey Fields Athletics Centre. Our students demonstrated impressive performances across a range of events, with several achieving personal bests.
A special congratulations goes to Buom, who gave an outstanding performance in the 12-13-year-old boys’ 400m, placing a strong third place finish. Buom maintained a consistently fast pace throughout the race, and an excellent endurance and strategy.

On a final note, I wanted to personally thank all staff and students who have participated in all of our whole school carnivals, division or regional carnival events. None of these could be possible without the help of staff and participation of our amazing students. That’s a wrap for our carnival for 2025!
Student vs Teacher Long Base Tournament Term 3 2025
Missed Today’s Long Base Showdown? You NEED to Read This!
At lunchtime today, the Unit 3 & 4 PDS students Mahir, Lual, Yusef, Nasser & Tristan pulled off one of the best teachers vs. student Long Base tournaments Lyndale has ever seen!
The Year 12s kicked off with some seriously slick moves fast runs, sharp catches but the teachers came ready to dominate. Early outs were flying, and Gurasees’ razor sharp throw kept the students on their toes. The Year 12s pushing hard to rack up 12 runs and keep the pressure alive.
When the students took the field, they struck first with an out on Mr. Palleschi but the teachers fought back fiercely. The highlight? Malan’s jaw dropping kick that went straight through the basketball hoop an absolute showstopper! Despite some incredible runs from both sides, the teachers pulled ahead with unstoppable momentum and sealed the win.- 22- 12
And shoutout to Lual and Yusef for their fantastic live commentary!
Huge congrats to the VM team for organising this unforgettable event and a massive well done to all players. The scoreboard says it all teachers remain undefeated.
Year 8 Boys Regional Basketball Team
Well done to the Year 8 Boys who went out to Regional Basketball last week. The boys put in some great efforts taking on the tall task (both figuratively and literally), coming up against teams that both were very skilled and had size on their side. Then boys placed third overall at regionals. Great efforts and good experience. Next year will be a better year. Big thanks to Mr Neilson for training and taking the boys out for sport.
Sports Bulletin 2025 Highlights
A big thank you to all students who have participated in our sports carnivals this year including swimming, cross country, and athletics at both division and regional levels as well as those who took part in our interschool sports program.
We are proud to celebrate an outstanding year of sporting achievements. Many students progressed from division through to regional competitions, demonstrating dedication, teamwork, and school spirit. In 2025, five of our interschool sports teams represented the school at regional level in:
- Year 8 Boys Netball
- Year 8 Girls Netball
- Year 8 Boys Basketball
- Intermediate Boys Table Tennis
Year 8 Boys Soccer
In addition to our school team successes, we had 10 students compete at Regional Swimming, 39 students at Regional Cross Country, and 22 students at Regional Athletics. These are fantastic accomplishments that highlight the strength of our sports program and the talent within our school community.
Congratulations to all our students on their incredible efforts and achievements this year!
I would also like to extend our sincere thanks to the staff who make these opportunities possible. Their commitment giving up lunchtimes and after-school hours to train, coach, and support our teams is truly appreciated. Without their dedication, these experiences and successes would not be possible.
Well done to everyone on a memorable and successful year in school sport!
Sports awards will be presented at presentation night 4th of December 2025.
