SENIOR SCHOOL UPDATE
Welcome back to Term 4! I hope all students, staff, and families enjoyed a restful and well-deserved break. Term 4 is always an exciting and important time in the Senior School, filled with milestones, celebrations, and opportunities for growth.
For our Year 12 students, this term marks the final chapter of their secondary school journey. We wish them every success as they complete their VCE examinations and prepare for life beyond school. Their hard work, commitment, and leadership throughout the year have set a wonderful example for younger students.
Our Year 11 and Year 10 students are also entering a significant period as they prepare for their end-of-year exams and begin looking ahead to 2026.
Beyond exams, Term 4 also brings many exciting events, including celebrations of learning, transition programs, and opportunities for students to come together as a community. I encourage all students to make the most of every opportunity, finish the year strongly, and take pride in how far they’ve come.
ATTENDANCE AND MERIT SHOP
Attendance and punctuality have also remained a strong focus across the Senior School and the College as a whole. It has been wonderful to see so many students arriving to class on time each morning. This positive habit not only supports learning but also develops a valuable life skill that will serve them well beyond school. Each week, we have proudly celebrated our E.P.I.C award winners—students who have been present in every class, every period.
It has also been fantastic to see students consistently demonstrating our college values of Respect, Resilience and Responsibility, acknowledged through the Merit system. Students are awarded green Merits when they actively demonstrate these values, while inappropriate behaviours may result in orange Minors (–1 point) or red Majors (–2 points). Merits can then be accumulated and redeemed at the Merit Shop, located in the Year 10 and 11 Senior School Coordination Office. Open every Friday lunchtime, make sure to get in before the end of the year as Merits cannot be carried over into 2026 for use, so shop while you can!
A huge congratulations to Christian Holloway, who made school history by becoming the first student to purchase a movie voucher with his outstanding total of 55 Merits earned throughout the year!
Christian’s dedication, positive attitude, and consistent demonstration of our school values have truly paid off. His commitment to doing his best, both in and out of the classroom sets a wonderful example for others.
Well done, Christian! We are so proud of your effort and the way you have contributed to our school community. Enjoy your well-earned movie voucher!
EXAMS
Week four of this term marks a very special time in our school calendar, as our Year 12 students begin their VCE exams. These final assessments are the result of years of hard work, determination, and growth, and we couldn’t be prouder of all of our Year 12 students.
As a school community, we wish all of our VCE students, and our Year 11 students completing a Unit 3/4 subject, the very best of luck. We know they will give their best effort and show the resilience, responsibility and respect that define our school values.
As our VCE students continue their exams, attention also turns to our Year 10 and 11 examinations, which will take place later this term. These exams provide an important opportunity for students to consolidate their learning, develop effective study habits, and prepare for the challenges of senior school.
Year 11 students are only required at school during Week 7 and the Monday of Week 8 for their scheduled exams, while Year 10 students are only required during Week 7.
Year 10 Accelerated classes (10G and 10H) and Year 11 VCE VM classes will continue following their regular timetables and will not sit exams. Year 11 VCE VM students will have no scheduled classes on Monday 24 November, and some room changes will occur for these classes during the exam period.
We are incredibly proud of all our students for the effort, maturity and perseverance they continue to show. The coming weeks are a time to reflect on achievements, apply learning and take pride in progress made throughout the year. We wish them every success as they complete their exams and move toward the next stage of their learning journey.
I look forward to a positive and productive term ahead and thank our families for their ongoing support of the Senior School.
