Celebrating Wellbeing, Inclusion, and Community at Lyndale

As we wrapped up Term 3, our Wellbeing and Inclusion Team finished on a high with an incredible Blue Edge Reward Excursion to an indoor rock-climbing centre. Students were pushed beyond their comfort zones, showing courage, teamwork, and a true demonstration of our school values of Respect, Resilience, and Responsibility. It was inspiring to see our young people supporting each other, overcoming fears, and celebrating success together.

We were equally excited to begin Term 4 by welcoming a new group of Blue Edge participants, who are already showing enthusiasm and commitment to developing their leadership, teamwork, and personal growth across the remainder of the term.

Our International Students have also been enjoying their regular monthly lunches, connecting with peers and staff while sharing food, laughter, and stories from around the world. Recently, they experienced a fantastic day at Healesville Sanctuary, where they learned about Australia’s unique wildlife and deepened their understanding of our natural environment.

None of these experiences would be possible without the dedication of our Wellbeing and Inclusion Team. This incredible group of staff consistently volunteer their time to attend City Experience, sports excursions, and other student events, enriching the school experience for our learners and ensuring every student feels supported and included.

Our team also continues to host the monthly Lyndale Pantry, with the next event scheduled for Tuesday, 12 November. Families are warmly invited to join us for morning tea, connect with the team, and access fresh produce and pantry items as part of our commitment to supporting our school community. We look forward to our final Pantry event for 2024 on Tuesday, 10 December, and hope to see as many families there as possible. Full details can be found on the attached flyer.

As part of our community support initiatives, we are also collecting pre-loved uniform items to launder and rehome for families in need. Donations can be dropped off at the Main Office by Thursday, 5 December, so they’re ready for new students starting next year.

A reminder too that any lost property—uniform or non-uniform— not collected by 5 December will be rehomed and donated to local charities. Please take a moment to check the lost property area if your child has misplaced items.

On behalf of the Wellbeing, Inclusion, and Community Connections team, I want to thank our students, staff, and families for another fantastic term of engagement, growth, and connection.

Enjoy the remainder of the year!
