What's On In 1/2

Finishing Term 2 with a Bang!
What a fantastic way to wrap up Term 2! Our Grade 2 Sleepover was filled with fun, excitement, and well, a sprinkle of sleep for some students. The night kicked off with a delicious dinner enjoyed while watching the sunset over the basketball court. We then went on a night walk, spotting some nocturnal creatures (although most seemed to hear us coming!). After a movie and lots of giggles late into the night, teachers were awoken by some surprisingly fresh and energetic students eager to get ready for the whole school for Footy Day. The high fives from the mascot and tackling the tackle bag were definite highlights! After all that action, our wonderful parent volunteers treated everyone to delicious hotdogs-just what we needed to fuel our fantastic Term 2 finish!
An Event Filled Term:
It’s shaping up to be a busy and exciting term, and we’ve hit the ground running! We kicked things off with a splash of colour and fun at our vibrant Colour Run. Students had an absolute blast navigating the course, and it wasn’t long before their crisp white shirts were transformed into rainbows of colour! A huge well done on our fantastic fundraising efforts, your support truly makes a difference. Thank you to all the incredible volunteers who helped bring the day to life.
This week, we are excited to perform the long-awaited Step into the Spotlight whole-school performance. Students have done an amazing job learning their dances with dedication and determination. We’ve been so impressed by how they’ve demonstrated our school value of respect throughout the weekly lessons, and we can’t wait to see it all come together on the day!
With all this happening, we haven’t skipped a beat in the classroom. In Literacy, students have been learning about the difference between fact and opinion and putting their passionate ideas to work in persuasive writing sessions. Don’t be surprised if their negotiation skills suddenly level up- whether it’s asking for five more minutes before bed, a playdate, or even a new pet! In Mathematics, we’ve been exploring the concept of money, including earning and spending. Students have been busy designing shops in preparation for our upcoming 12 Level Market, where they’ll get to spend their hard-earned ‘cash’ on homemade products. On top of that, students have also kicked off their annual Questacon sessions, working in pairs to test their problem-solving skills through puzzles and challenges that stretch their mathematical thinking.
Looking ahead, there’s still so much to look forward to this term. With swimming, transition, and Carols Night on the horizon, it’s sure to be a term full of learning, celebration, and fun!
