Principal's News

Dear Famlies of Trinity Primary School,

As I said to our children on Monday, whilst I am sure we have all enjoyed the holidays and would love for these to continue just a little bit longer it is also great to be back at school with our friends and teachers ready for an exciting term 4 of learning together.  There is a great deal locked into our school calendar already with camps for our 3/4s and 5/6s, Grandparents Day next week, Twighlight Sports, Junior Swimming Program and so much more so please keep your eye on the Community Calendar as well as SEESAW and NForma notices to ensure you have all these important dates and activities added into your own calendars as well.

Learning Overviews

Next  week, as is our usual process at the start of each term, we will include each year level's Learning Overviews for the term. These are a great way for parents to understand what will be covered in each of the curriculum areas thoughout the term. I encourage you to read through these so that you can have conversations with your child or children about their learning.  If you have any questions about these overviews please feel free to contact your child's teacher or Mr Ru and Ms Helen our Learning & Teaching Leaders.

Yarra City Proposal

As many of you are already aware, Yarra City Council have begun exploring the possibility of creating a 'Green Space' at the end of Kent Street. We have, of course, raised our concerns in regard to the impact this could have on parking in what is already an extremely challenging situation. Thank you to those parents who completed the Survey I sent during the holidays or which you may have received directly from Yarra Council. We sincerely hope that the questions we raise are seriously considered in any plans moving forward.

Student Behaviour

Trinity Primary School has, as a core belief, that positive student wellbeing should be at the centre of all we do and the decisions we make. We know that from time time our children can make both good choices and bad choices. We want our children to know that this is a normal part of being human and that as long as we can take responsibilty for our mistakes and accept the natural consequences then these situations can also be invaluable learning opportunities for each of us. Our school's values of Community, Excellence and Respect are key values that we regularly promote and encourage our children and staff to live by each day.  As part of our school's approach to student behaviour each class regularly discusses their class Positive Behaviours Matrix which outlines the classes expectations so that each member can contribute in a positive way to ensure the safety and wellbeing of each other.  Whenever there are any serious concerns we will always reach out to parents to ensure we are providing a consistent message to our children both at home and at school so that we can continue to work in partnership with each other.
