Year 7 student, Timika Klemm, recently participated in the Tablelands Japanese Speaking Competition. This is a regional Japanese language competition that brought together over 100 students from 14 schools across the Cairns and Tablelands area.

Timika represented our school with pride, presenting a speech in Japanese to the student audience and a panel of judges. She was participating in the Year 7 Background Speaker division and spoke beautifully.
This year was the sixth year of the competition, and the first time we have had a student from St Stephen's Catholic College participate. Congratulations Timika!
Our team had an outstanding season, finishing premiers after a 20-game campaign with 13 wins, 2 draws, and 5 losses, securing the top spot by 5 points ahead of second-placed Southside Comets.
The finals series was a thrilling journey:
Grand Final: In a momentous turnaround, we defeated Southside Comets 2–1, marking our first win against them all season!
To cap it off, we represented Cairns in the prestigious Crad Evans Tournament, facing Estates FC from Townsville. In a tense match, we emerged victorious 1–0, with a crucial penalty save securing the win.
To top off an outstanding year, the team won the Community Men's Senior Team of the Year for the Far North and Gulf region.
