Sports and Activities

Mrs Jennifer Tahir, Middle Leader Sports and Activities

At the end of Term 3 we had our Senior Cricket Team represent the College at the next stage of the Street-smart Cricket Tournament, versing Townsville’s Ignatius Park College. The team were up against some wonderful competition. The experience versing such high-level cricket players who have now progressed to Brisbane for the final stage of the tournament has ignited a keenness in our young Senior Team for the years to come and we look forward to seeing their progress next year.

We also had Miss Reys coach our Allan Rockley Touch Football mixed Junior team who competed throughout the term in Atherton. By the end of the competition, the students united as a team and demonstrated great sportsmanship.

A highlight was our very own Hailey Jaszczyszyn being awarded Best and Fairest within their division and Isaac Adams receiving a Sportsmanship Award.

Our last competition of the term was sending a Senior girls’ team and a Junior boys’ team to the new Super 6’s Touch competition in Smithfield. The Junior boys were competitive, winning a couple of their games against competing Cairns schools, and our Senior girls demonstrated great teamwork and came close to a couple of wins, just narrowly missing out.

Kind regards,
