Respect, Responsibility, and Aspiration – Classroom Expectations

This week, we are focusing on our school values to create a positive and supportive environment for learning and growth. These values are Respect, Responsibility and Aspiration. As part of our PBL focus, students will be encouraged to reflect on and practice these values inside the classroom.

Here’s what we’re focusing on:

Respect:

Students will be encouraged to:

  • Respect others’ personal space and property, remembering that everyone’s space matters.
  • Keep hands and feet to themselves, ensuring all interactions are kind and respectful.
  • Listen actively and speak respectfully to others, contributing to a positive and supportive learning space.
  • Be mindful of their behaviour to allow everyone to learn and stay safe.

Responsibility:

Students will be encouraged to:

  • Follow the teacher’s instructions so that everyone is on the same page and ready to learn.
  • Be in the right place at the right time.
  • Take ownership of their belongings, actions, and choices.

Aspiration:

Students will be encouraged to:

  • Strive to do their best and push themselves to reach their full potential in every activity.
  • Challenge themselves and take risks in their learning, understanding that making mistakes is part of growth.
  • Show initiative by actively participating and thinking of ways to improve and contribute.
  • Be resilient and reflective, learning from every experience and using it to improve.

This week, as we focus on these important expectations, our goal is to foster a positive environment where students feel safe, supported and encouraged to do their best. By demonstrating the values of Respect, Responsibility and Aspiration, we can create a school community where everyone learns and grows side by side!
