At Trinity, students engage in Inquiry Learning. This term all classes will be learning about Sustainability. This unit of learning will be explored through Inquiry and Religious Education.
This week we had some interesting visitors in the Science Room- STICK INSECTS! In Science this term, the students at Trinity are learning about the Biological Sciences. The students will be investigating living things, how they grow and change, and their life cycles. Thanks to Ms Colleen Marriot for providing such an engaging learning experience for our children. If you have a very close look below, you might see some of the stick insects that Ms Colleen has brought into the Science room...
Over the next two weeks the children in Years 3 to 6 will be taking part in an Intensive Swimming Program at Richmond Recreation Centre. The Prep to Year 2's will participate later this year. This is a very important program for all children as it covers essential swimming skills. Thanks to our PE Teacher Ms Rachel McLeary for organising this as part of our Physical Education program at Trinity.
Concert auditions were in full swing today! Ms Stanton and Ms Georgia had the very enjoyable but very hard job of choosing the lead performers for our School Production this year. We have some very talented students at Trinity!
Here are some of our students (and teachers) in 3/4VA engaged in collaborative mathematical learning....
Our Prep students have been learning how to make and break numbers...
And Mr Gahan in 1/2DG sharing the Learning Intention and Success Criteria for the day's Maths lesson...
This week we welcomed two Seminarians Patrick and Matthews who will be working in the 5/6 classrooms each Monday in Term 2. They have come from Corpus Christi College in Carlton where they are studying to become priests. We are looking forward to having them with us at Trinity.
As it is ANZAC Day on Thursday 25th of April, all classes have been learning about ANZAC Day. ANZAC stands for Australian and New Zealand Army Corps. The whole school participated in an ANZAC ceremony on Wednesday to remember all the soldiers who were known as the ANZACs. Anzac Day is a commemoration of the anniversary of the landing of Australian and New Zealand troops at Gallipoli, Turkey on 25 April in 1915.
The 1/2 classes enjoyed some ANZAC Biscuits made by Ms Annie. They also wrote about ANZAC Day and used decsriptive words to write about the ANZAC biscuits.
At Trinity we value our Learning Support Staff and the additional, individual support they give to students in the classrooms. It makes such a difference to student learning.
If at any time you would like to chat about the learning at Trinity, or you have any questions or concerns about your child's learning, please do not hesitate to see your child's teacher, or myself.
