Prayer  for the start of our school term

Lord God, help us to remember the sacrifice of the first ANZACs, Australian and New Zealander, and the generations of men, women and children who have died in the cause of liberty and peace.

Help us to remember those who still bear the physical and mental scars and disabilities of their service.

Amen

Dear Families,

Whilst it has been a much shorter week than normal I feel that our teachers have crammed in a full week's work into just three days. We have also had a very successful first week of swimming with all of our Year 3, 4, 5 & 6 students enjoying the program at Richmond pool. We have been mostly fortunate with the weather so far and fingers crossed this will continue next week. A very sincere thank you to all those parents who have been able to attend and help out with walking to the pool or meeting us at the pool to assist with the children. Without this great support I really don't think we would be able to run programs such as these.

School Review

Our work on our school review will continue on Friday with all staff examining where our school sits in relation to the School Improvement Framework Rubrics which are designed by MACS to enable schools to measure their achievements and identify goals for further improvement. Each of the 5 Spheres, Leadership & Management, Religious Education, Learning & Teaching, Student Wellbeing and School Community are measured by criteria on a five point scale. Detailed evidence of our achievements in each of the criteria must be shown to our external reviewers who will ultimatley provide a thorough report and recommendations to guide our next four year School Improvement Plan.

A second, and equally detailed component of the school review is in relation to Compliance and Child Safety. Our external reviewer will complete a thorough audit of our school's policies and procedures in these areas with a full day dedicated to review all aspects of child safety. This process will ensure we have the most up to date policies and procedures in place to ensure we meet all Government Child Safe Standards.

Parents & Friends

A very big thank you to Michael, Michele's dad, who has bravely put his hand up to take over the President's role on our P&F. We are very excited to be working with Michael and a new group of volunteers to begin looking at some great opportunities for our school.
