ANZAC Day 2024

This week our classes have been learning about ANZAC Day. As a school, we created a collaborative wreath made of chalk drawings. Classes discussed the symbolism behind Poppies and Rosemary.

"Rosemary is for remembrance and the Poppies grew where the soldiers fought in the first war." Delilah - Numbats

Our Year 3-6 students joined other schools from our community to pay their respects at the 2024 Ellenbrook Combined Schools ANZAC Service at Memorial Amphitheatre. Our choir led the congregation in song to conclude the service.

Stuart and Rita proudly explained what ANZAC Day means to them.

Our Early Childhood students also gathered to remember the ANZACs through a small prayer service. They laid their own wreaths, and listened to a story about why we have ANZAC Day parades.
