Katie from Year 6 Emus, and her brother Theo (formerly from Year 6 Emus in 2021) were both named as finalists in the Western Australian Scout of the Year Award, with Theo named as the winner for the Scout Section.

The Youth Awards was held on 18 February at the Perth Concert Hall. The Award is designed to recognise a youth who has given exceptional service to Scouting and the community. It is presented each year to recognise and congratulate those youth members within Scouting whose contributions and achievements go above and beyond in making a difference in their community.

Katie dedicated ten months to charitable efforts where, with her focussed determination, she raised $3,135 across multiple initiatives. A steward of environmental education, she champions saving and protecting the critically endangered Western Swamp Tortoise, founding a Youth Council for its preservation. Congratulations Katie (and Theo) on your achievements.

Katie is also a finalist in the 2024 Young Achiever of the Year award. Members of our school community can vote for Katie once a day via the following link

Congratulations Katie! You should be very proud of your achievements.
