From the Principal

Dear Parents and Friends,

Welcome Back

I hope you were able to spend some special time with family and friends over the Easter Break. Term 2 is already shaping up to be another very busy term. I have been very impressed with the way students have immediately adjusted to school routines and the focus they have shown during classes.

Easter Raffle

On the last day of Term 1 we conducted our annual Easter Raffle. This year there were about 30 prizes and a special treat for all students. It was lots of fun and we thank our Parents' Association for organising this event.

Winter Uniform

All students must be wearing the school winter uniform by Tuesday 30th April. Until then students may wear the summer or winter uniform but not a combination of both.

Girls Winter Uniform

  • black shoes
  • black tights with St Christopher’s burgundy school tunic (only from PSW) or girls ink tailored pants (only from PSW)
  • light blue, long-sleeve polo shirt with school logo
  • St Christopher’s  burgundy wool v-neck school jumper
  • burgundy rain jacket (optional)

Boys Winter Uniform

  • black shoes
  • grey socks
  • grey pleated trousers (only from PSW)
  • blue, long-sleeve polo shirt with school logo
  • St Christopher’s  burgundy wool v-neck school jumper
  • burgundy rain jacket (optional)

All students need to wear the sport uniform on Thursdays. Students in Years 3 - 6 may also wear the sport uniform on Fridays. This includes black shorts and their house polo top. The school windcheater and burgundy tracksuit pants are part of the sport uniform and may be worn on the above days only. For all uniform needs, please use the PSW link below.

Mother's Day Stall & Afternoon Tea

Welcome

A special welcome to Hazel Ton in Year 2. Hazel joined St Christopher's on Monday and we look forward to Hazel and her family being a part of the St Christopher's community.

Blackburn Road Intersection Works

Many of you would be aware of the M76 Mount Waverley Water main Renewal project on High Street Road. This project will soon be working across the Blackburn Road intersection (expected dates  are May 5 - May 19).

The works will directly impact how many staff/parents access our school. There will be no right hand turn around the intersection, lane access along the work area will be limited to one lane each way in each direction. Pedestrians will be able to safely cross from a temporary cross over at Elm Grove and at Hunters Street respectively. Please consider allowing extra time to travel to school.

Students who use the bus will also be impacted as the following stops will be closing soon:

Route 734: Blackburn High Street Road (both ways)

Route  703: Doone Ave/Blackburn Road ( to Blackburn Station)

There will be traffic management on site to assist pedestrians and motorists to navigate the area. Please see the attached images for further details.

If you have any concerns regarding your child's learning or wellbeing, please contact their teacher or myself.

Regards

Shane Davoren
