WPS Community Children’s Garden

Q. What is a weed?

A. A plant that grows where you don’t want it to.

Therefore, we have lots of edible and flowering ‘weeds’ coming up outside of our garden beds that we’ve been digging up and planting in pots. These may be strawberries that have grown on long runners, or seedlings germinating in the gravel paths that have sprouted from seed that has blown out of the raised beds. We’ll care for these over Winter and Spring, so that they can be sold at the Carlsruhe Fair later in the year.

Some, such as native mint and lamb’s ears, have made their way to student’s homes already. 😊
