School-Wide Positive Behaviour Support (SWPBS)

SWPBS is a whole school program which aims to create a positive school climate, student competence and a responsive management system for behaviour within our school community. Introducing, modelling and reinforcing positive social behaviour is an important component of a student’s educational experience. Teaching behavioural expectations and recognising students' efforts for following them is a positive approach, rather than waiting for unacceptable behaviour to occur before responding.

The SWPBS program is underpinned by the school’s values. At ENPS, our values of SAFEKIND and RESPECTFUL are reflected in our everyday learning, displayed and taught explicitly in all areas of the school.

Our SWPBS team has been leading the development of a matrix of behaviours we wish to encourage. These behaviours relate to our values, in all parts of the school and in all school related activities. All students are to be explicitly taught the values and expected behaviours. The behaviours will be consistently monitored by all staff and are expected from every staff member.

We recently shared our behaviour matrix through Compass, and we would like to share it once again through our newsletter. We encourage families to discuss with their children how they demonstrate these values and behaviours at school to reinforce them and foster collaboration between home and school. We thank you for your ongoing commitment to making ENPS a safe, kind, and respectful environment for all!
