Year Three

In our 'Who We Are' ongoing unit, the Year Threes have been working on emotional regulation, coping strategies for dealing with difficult situations, and techniques for "taming anger" this term. We have been reflecting on how these skills can help us deal with situations that may arise in the classroom, on the playground, and at home.

We've also enjoyed introducing yarning circles in our wellbeing lessons. A yarning circle (or dialogue circle) is an important process within Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultures. It has been used by Indigenous peoples around the world for centuries to learn from a collective group, build respectful relationships, and preserve and pass on cultural knowledge. The Year Threes have started using this as part of our 'Who We Are' unit.
