Anzac Ted!

In Foundation we connected to Anzac Day by responding to the story; Anzac Ted by Belinda Landsberry. Anzac Ted might look a little scary and dirty on the front cover, however there’ s more to the battered old bear than meets the eye! This is a story about the Anzac spirit and how, through courage, loyalty and love, a child’s teddy bear helped to bring our soldiers home.

Students enjoyed the story, learnt important information about Anzac Day and discussed why it is important to commemorate each year.

As a story response, students followed a guided drawing of Anzac Ted. This required lots of concentration, thinking and drawing skills, to ensure they were including all of the important details. Colouring in at the end was lots of fun as the Anzac Teds came to life!
