Positive Behaviour for Learning (PBL)
Students have been lining up and entering and exiting their learning spaces with greater awareness. Success looks like students walking calmly, walking at voice level ‘0’, walking behind the person in front of them, staying inline and walking with hands by their side. We will continue to support students to achieve success and then build on further routines through explicit teaching of the schoolwide expectations.
Last term we surveyed the Grade 3 - 6 students, staff and parent community to determine the most important Behavioural Values. The values that were voted as most important were:
Respect
Responsibility
Resilience
Safety
From this we created a Behaviour Matrix which will now guide staff to support students to develop a common understanding of the behaviour expectations. This matrix is a visual display that outlines the expectations at St. Peter’s. Soon they will be displayed in every classroom at our school.
Our core values of Respect, Responsibility, Resilience and Safety, are featured on our matrix as a reminder of what is expected of all students at St. Peter’s across all areas of the school and moving forward, staff will teach these expectations to students.

I invite you to have a look and let me know if you have any feedback via email natasha.franchina@spclayton.catholic.edu.au
It would be great if you could remind your children of some of these expectations as we believe that by reinforcing positive behaviour, we can create a more positive and engaging learning environment for all students.
