Careers News

Mrs Yvette Kennedy

February, 2026 - FACT:  those who have goals are 10 times more likely to succeed than those without goals

As the first Careers Newsletter of the year, I would like to introduce myself to our new Year 7 and Year 11 students and their families and to remind Year 8, 9 and 12 students of the services that I am able to provide. In my role as Instructional Leader Pathways and Partnerships, I am able to work with students to set goals for their HSC and beyond school. These Individual Transition Plans (ITP) are aligned with student’s strengths, passions and interests. I also work closely with universities, tertiary institutions and employers to develop partnerships to assist our students as they seek pathways post school, cadetship opportunities and scholarships. At present our College is working in partnership with many universities and tertiary institutions, including University of Wollongong, University of Technology (including the UTS Start-Up team), Torrens University and SEDA Academy. We are developing close partnerships with local businesses including Kareena Hospital, Stella Maris Aged Care, Matt Blak Property, Hospitality Partnerships (including Sealevel, Kin Cafe, The Pines Restaurant, Flour Cafe, Grind Cafe, and Cronulla RSL.

At the end of last year we held our Working In Partnerships Evening where we were able to recognise and celebrate the number of industry partners that we have working with the College. If you have a business and are keen to become involved more with our College, please reach out to me.

I will continue to post opportunities in this newsletter, as well as important dates for University entries, Early Admissions, Scholarships and employment opportunities.

UAC

The University Admission Centre (UAC) is the body responsible for calculating student’s ATAR and allocating university preferences following the HSC. I will continue to update all the latest from UAC in these newsletters.

University Updates

There will be many opportunities throughout the year to learn about universities and the Early Admission process. It is important that all students continue to watch this space and to attend as many Open Days and Webinars as they can. The more research that students can do, the better informed they will be on making decisions for post school study.
