Student Learning

Foundation
The foundation students are settling into school life excellently. They have been really successful in engaging in the lessons and navigating their way in a new environment.
1/2
Writing- the 1/2 students have been writing recounts about experiences they have had at school. Students had the opportunity to share their recounts together today!
Maths- The 1/2 students have also been working on their blitz, plenty of students have already levelled up and are one step closer to becoming a blitz master!!
They have also been working on place values using visual cues such as drawn MAB blocks.
3/4
Integrated studies- Our Grade 3/4 students have been exploring the fascinating world of air in Integrated Studies! Through hands-on investigations, they experimented with inflating and deflating a range of objects, carefully observing how their shape and size changed when air was added or removed. Students discussed and explained how air takes up space, exerts pressure, and can completely transform an object’s appearance and structure.
Reading - Using thinking stem bookmarks, students were encouraged to think more deeply about their reading, share ideas and build understanding through discussion.
Writing - Students stepped into the role of a news reporter. They worked on presenting information clearly and creatively, just like real journalists. They also brainstormed “My Passion” topics, sharing ideas about what interests them.
Maths – There were plenty of smiles as students had fun playing 'Greedy Pig'. This game helped students practise addition while encouraging strategic thinking.
Art - Students designed some very cool sunglasses, using warm and cool colours to really accentuate their designs. The results were bright, creative, and full of personality.
P.E - While enjoying the sunshine, students practiced their throwing and catching skills, building coordination, confidence, and teamwork in a fun outdoor setting.
5/6
The 56 students have settled back into routine really well.
The 56's have enjoyed getting back into their reading, and visiting the school library for new books.
They have also been in small maths groups with Miss Pfeiffer, engaging in problem solving and learning how to explain the logic behind their answers.
