WELLBEING

Learning Centre

It’s been a busy and productive term in the Learning Centre! Students have been making excellent progress with the MacqLit program, designed to support reading development and build foundational literacy skills. Through engaging group sessions and tailored activities, our learners are gaining confidence, decoding skills, and a love of reading. We’re proud of their achievements and look forward to seeing continued growth throughout the year. Include the successful completion of some of our students! If you’d like to know more about MacqLit or how your child can benefit, please contact the Learning Centre team.

Check In Assessments

Last week, students in Years 7 to 9 completed the Check-in Assessments, an important tool designed to provide teachers with timely insights into literacy and numeracy skills. These assessments help identify individual student strengths and areas for growth, enabling tailored support to enhance learning outcomes. By regularly monitoring progress, the Check-in Assessments ensure that every student receives the targeted assistance they need to succeed in their educational journey. Year 6 into 7 Transition Update

Last Thursday, we were delighted to host our small schools for a half day transition session full of fun and exciting lesson activities to familiarise life at high school. It was wonderful to welcome our future Year 7 students and provide them with a glimpse of what’s ahead. The enthusiasm and excitement were truly inspiring!

Looking ahead, we are eagerly preparing to welcome students from all schools next Thursday for a half-day transition experience. This event will offer a fantastic opportunity for our incoming Year 7 students to explore the school, meet teachers and fellow students, and start feeling at home in their new school environment.

We look forward to supporting our transitioning students every step of the way and ensuring they have a smooth and positive start to their high school journey.
