From the Classroom

News from the Seniors
These last few weeks have flown by! Students have been busy finishing our class novel The One and Only Ivan, presenting their passion projects, and completing final learning tasks in our Inquiry and Science units.
We have also been revising key maths topics, including the four processes, fractions and percentages, and worded problems. Our Grade 6s have been writing and practising their graduation speeches, while the Grade 5s have been creating thoughtful letters for their peers.
We are so impressed with how students have stayed focused and continued to try their personal best. It has been a wonderful year full of learning, teamwork, supporting classmates, and lots of shared experiences. We are very proud of our senior students and are looking forward to celebrating their hard work with our Fun Day at Rollerama and a pizza lunch next Tuesday.
We hope everyone has a happy and safe Christmas and holiday break. Thank you to all families for your support throughout the year.
Middles News
As we come to the end of another school year, we would like to take a moment to celebrate what has truly been a fantastic year of learning, growth and friendship .
Our students should be incredibly proud of themselves. They have shown dedication, resilience and a strong work ethic across all areas of learning. From building their reading and writing skills, strengthening their maths understanding, and exploring exciting topics in Inquiry, to participating enthusiastically in Specialist classes – they have approached each challenge with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn.
We have been especially impressed by the kindness, teamwork and positive behaviour demonstrated by our students throughout the year. They have supported one another, shown respect, and worked hard to make our classrooms happy and inclusive spaces. These values are just as important as academic success, and our students should be very proud of the way they have represented themselves and our school.
We would like to sincerely thank our families for your ongoing support throughout the year. Your encouragement at home and partnership with the school plays a vital role in your child’s success.
We wish all our students and families a safe, happy and restful holiday break and look forward to seeing our students continue to grow and thrive in the year ahead.
Thank you,
Pippa and Lisa
Juniors Tell All
The past two weeks have been full of fun and Christmas spirit in the Junior Unit! We started December by putting up our classroom Christmas trees and adding holiday decorations in preparation for our final few weeks of Term 4!
Both Junior A and Junior B have worked on a Narrative Unit, publishing stories and learning the structures of stories. In Maths, Junior B completed their Capacity Unit, filling various containers to work out which holds more, students showed attentive listening and patience as they followed instructions on how to correctly fill containers and measure them against their classmates’ containers. Junior A have also been looking as mass, using balance scales to order the mass of different objects.
The Junior team would like to extend our gratitude to the wonderful families that we have worked with this year, to the volunteers who supported the learning and events for our students, we are grateful for your time. We are so lucky to have worked with such a wonderful cohort of students who demonstrated our school values excellently throughout the year. We hope that you all have a wonderful and relaxed break, we look forward to seeing everyone in the new year.
Warmly,
Rebecca, Caitlin, Jenny & Gabby
