Interview with Myarissa from 3D about playing Martine in the 2025 Arts Show
Interviewer: Hi Myarissa, thanks for meeting with me! Could you please talk me through the preparation you did before the big night?
Myarissa: What we had to do before the arts show performance was keep on practising our lines. We went through it (for example stage left and right) our movements on stage and sometimes Dan would prompt us if we ever forgot our lines. We had to try and memorise it in our heads. I practised my lines every day at home AND at school. We also had to practise our cues of when to go on stage since there were a bunch of characters and the play was about time travel. Most of us practised it by memorising what the person before us said so we knew when to say our line.
Interviewer: How did it feel on the day?
Myarissa: On the day I was really nervous and it was very nerve wracking but when it's over it's done and you just feel proud of yourself. My role was Martine and I think she is a very open-minded character because she's always trying new things and keen to do things (even when she's told not to!). This also makes her brave and determined. I really liked playing her because she is similar to me in some ways but in some ways also different to me.
Interviewer: Can you tell us what happened in the show and about your favourite part?
Myarissa: The actual play was time travelling so Martine visited a bunch of places from the past and future. Along the way she learnt lots of lessons. My class performed with 3C and we did back in time in Australia when Aboriginal Peoples were here. My favourite scene was probably the Roman Army by 3A and 3E because it was a comedy!
Interviewer: What advice would you give to anyone thinking of auditioning?
Myarissa: Hmm, advice I would give to people that would like to audition for a role maybe next year is "If you do it then never doubt yourself!" My parents said I should do it even though you're doubting yourself because you never know what's going to happen!
Interviewer: Thanks for taking the time to talk with me!
Myarissa: Thank you Lizzie
Grade 3 Reflections
By Bella and Adeline
Hello, our names are Bella and Adeline. At the Arts Fest our class performed a magical scene. If you were not there we will tell you a little about what we did. Our class had a scene in the future where we had a problem with too much rubbish. We had a big talk about it for weeks. We spent hours planning and preparing. In the end they were a masterpiece. On the other side we spent 1 hour every week preparing the artwork. Tess our art teacher was a very big help as she did all the setup and arrangements. So were the performing arts teachers Dan and Patrick! Bye and thank you for listening, have a good day!

I think it was really fun to see my mum seeing it. I saw her in the crowd. It was really scary because there was also a lot of families looking at me the most! I felt happy and excited and good. I enjoyed everything!

It was fun because mum was there to watch me and dad! I liked being a seed and being the tallest one on stage! I wasn't nervous before and I felt really happy after. I want to do it again next year. Well, bye bye

At the Arts Show this year I felt scared but then when I was up there it didn't really feel that scary. It looks scary but actually it's not really when you're on stage. It was kind of fun singing the song.

I was nervous at first but it was fun! I haven't ever really been on stage before, just once in my life. When I was on stage it felt a bit funny but after that it felt really good. My favourite part was getting to do the emu dance. After I felt amazing! My mum, au pair and Isaac (my brother) came to watch!

Hi my name is Iris and I would like to talk about the arts show. It was a great opportunity to work together on lots of wonderful performances. Everyone had a wonderful time. I played the time travelling dog/Bobbie. The preparation was the hardest but the funnest part. We all (3/4s) came to the gym on Wednesdays after first play to rehearse everyone's performances. The best part was being nervous. The most challenging part was going up on stage and giving everything I got. And a big thanks to the performing arts teachers for being so helpful and putting everything together. Also to Tess for trying really hard to make everything perfect.

My name is Lisa and I would like to talk about the Arts show. It was a great opportunity for the parents to see what we have learnt. We put together all our hard work into a wonderful performance. I played the role of the roman army general of the eastern roman empire. We did a lot of work behind the scenes, like practising the song (a lot). The best part was making our hard work pay off on the stage. The most challenging part was perfecting the timing, because at the start we sometimes came in too early. Thanks to the performing arts teachers Dan and Patrick, and art teacher Tess for working hard to make everything amazing.

Hello my name is Elliot and I will be talking about the arts show: the art show was an amazing time to learn. The role I played was the fierce general. It was so fun. I want to thank the performing arts and art teachers for helping us and for planning everything.

In week 4, a Wednesday night, we had our great Grade 3-4 Art Show along with Tess showing all of our favourite artworks in the Grade 3 corridor. Our favourite performances were the beginning of time and the Roman Empire, which we did!
We were really proud of ourselves. Here are some things people said:
“It was out of this world, well rehearsed, funny and entertaining”. Carmel
“I really loved how the scene was in unison along with captivating music”. Jetson 3E
Tess also worked really hard setting up all of our artwork. We all picked our favourite artworks and carefully framed it!
In the end. The show was perfect. We all tried our best and the parents were proud, interested and entertained.
Thank you for reading! Have a nice day!

In week four was the 3-4 Art Show. Our Art teacher Tess put up all of our art in the Grade 3 corridor. All of our parents got to see our art work. We even got to make cute little portraits of ourselves.
We got picked up from school on Wednesday afternoon then came back again at 4.15pm. Then the grade three’s did their performances. Carmel, our teacher, thought that our performance was outstanding and funny. She said, “I loved all of the performances". We got to see everyone’s performance during rehearsals. It was a great night and we are all very proud of our art work and performances.
After our performance we came back to our classroom where we got to have lots of fun singing and dancing to them!
All of our parents picked us up and we all went home. Patrick and Dan cleaned it all up and then all of the teachers went home as well.
We all want to thank Tess our Art teacher, Patrick and Dan, our Performing Arts teachers and all the teachers of Grade 3 and 4 for all of their help.
RISE Awards
We would also like to celebrate the Grade 3 Rise Award recipients at our recent assembly. These students have been demonstrating leadership, positive attitudes and serving as role models within our community. Well done Elliot, Francis, Jai, Nate and Advika!
