From the Office

Raywood PS School Review - Last week our school completed the final components of our School Review. A big thank you to those families who spoke with members of the Review team across the two days and to Jarrod Blake (School Council President) for his support as well. It was really pleasingly to see the wonderful learning environment we all create at Raywood PS recognised as part of this process and also to hear our students speak fondly of their school.
The Resilience Project - We are excited to share that from the beginning of next year, our school will be taking on The Resilience Project as a key measure in the proactive wellbeing support we provide to students at our school. Based on the evidence-based principles of Gratitude, Empathy, Mindfulness and Emotional Literacy; The Resilience Project equips students with lifelong wellbeing habits as well as empowering families and school communities to support wellbeing in the community and home. We are excited to share more about this initiative after the summer break.
2026 Class Arrangements & Staffing - We are pleased to share that one of our valued school community members; Taylah Dower, will be joining us from the beginning of next year in an Office Admin role and will be with us two days a week. Next year our school will return to operating a Grade Prep, One, Two (P-2) Classroom and a Grade Three, Four, Five, Six (3-6) Classroom. We are pleased to share that our staffing will remain relatively stable as well which is always a positive and great support to the kids.
- Principal - James Sait
- Grade 3-6 - Hayden Collins
- Grade P-2 - Jessica Lehre
- Education Support - Bell Bertoni
- Office Admin - Taylah Dower
As was the case this year, Mr. Collins will teach the majority of the Grade 3-6 class load whilst Mrs. Lehre will teach in the Grade P-2 room everyday rather than the three days this year. Both Mr. Collins and Mrs. Lehre will teach some specialist areas of the curriculum with myself teaching specialist areas as well. I am looking forward to the opportunity to teach all of our kids across the week and to also allow enough time in the office alongside Taylah. We are planning to introduce some additional curriculum areas next year including Music, Sustainability/Kitchen Garden and Digital Technologies which we will be able to share more about in the new year.
Jet's Gymnastics - Students look to have had a blast at their first two gym sessions! Sessions will continue on Wednesdays until the end of the year.
Sustainability Excursion - On Monday 15th December we will be travelling to Bridgewater Primary School for a whole-school excursion to attend an activity day based around Sustainability. More information is provided on uEducateUs embedded in the online permission form.
End of Year Celebration Evening/Graduation - This week students will bring home an invitation and information regarding our end of year event which will be held on the last Tuesday of the year (16th Dec). We would love to see all of our families come along as we celebrate the end of the year, graduate Ollie from our school and engage in some Christmas fun. Please RSVP by Friday 12th Dec.
Upcoming Pupil Free Day - A reminder that we will be having a Pupil Free Day next Friday on the 5th of December to allow teachers to finalise student learning reports for the end of this semester and begin working on planning for next year.
Values Award - Congratulations to Stella and Laxford for recently receiving our Raywood PS Values Award. Stella received her award for impressive work ethic lately whilst reading, using her decoding skills masterfully, especially with doublet words like puff and kiss. Laxford received his award for showing great humility in our Down Ball Australia workshops a couple of weeks ago. Well Done Stella and Laxy!
Thanks Everyone,
James
