Principal's News

Dear Famlies of Trinity Primary School,

As we come even closer to the end of the 2025 school year there is much to do and complete before we can finally shut down for the Christmas Break. Added to all the normal end of year processes is of course the move we must make to ensure the Year 3/4 classrooms, Wellbeing room, Offices and Staffroom have all been relocated to allow for the first demolitions of the internal parts of those spaces.  3/4 TR will bemoving to the library and 3/4 ZC and 3/4 VA will share the space in the MPR with dividers created to separate the spaces. We have been very lucky to be given access to parts of the Archdiocese owned property next door on Somerset Street which will allow us to store many things that we will not immediately need next year. We may reach out to any parent volunteers who have some time to help with some parts of this move and will send out a request through our nforma parent portal.

School closure Day

As you know, next friday 12th December we will be having a school closure day so there will be no classes for students. On that day several new staff members will join us as we begin important planning for 2026.  Part of this day will also involve a thorough handover of information between teachers to ensure each of them has important information about all the children they will have in their class next year.  Once again I thank all parents for enabling us to have a day like this as it is invaluable for us to properly prepare and plan for next year.

Class Lists

Our class lists for 2026 have almost be finalized and on Monday 15th December all students will meet their new teacher and the other children in their class. We will also invite any new children who are joining us from other schools as part of this transition process. These days can be challenging for some students as they may be faced with a new teacher, different classmates and a new learning area. This is of course normal and an important part of their primary school experience and so encouraging them to face this challenge is the best way we can support them in an important life skill for the future.

Staff Update 2026

As communictaed by email recently we will see some staff changes for 2026 with several current staff moving into new roles, new schools or taking a break from teaching. We will of course miss each of these people and wish them all the best for the future.

We have been extremely fortunate to have now employed some excellent people to fill each of these positions and I look forward to welcoming them into our school communiuty where I am sure they will also be welcomed by our families and children next year. Each of them will be joining the staff next Friday for our school closure day so that they can be part of the forward planning for 2026.

We welcome:
Ms Annie Engellener as Deputy Principal, Learning & Teaching Leader and Religious Education Leader. Annie has held many senior leadership positions and brings with her a great wealth of knowledge and experience.
Ms Phuong Nguyen as Learning Diversity Leader and Intervention. Phuong currently works at Sacred Heart in Fitzroy and has much experience in this area. She is extremely excited about joining the Trinity team.
Ms Chelsea Uebergang as Prep Teacher. Chelsea is an experienced Junior school teacher and will be a fantastic addition to our already strong Prep team which next year will also include Ms Maddie Brown returning from maternity leave in a part time role.
Ms Nuwangi Nirupama Angelo. Nuwangi will be replacing Ms Jai in the Science role. Nuwangi currently teaches Science as a specialist class at Our Lady of Good Counsel and has a rich background in science having worked in this field for a number of years before moving into education.

No doubt you will all get to know each of these people once our 2026 school year begins.

End of Year Christmas Concert

There is already music in our corridoors as our children have begun learning their songs for our end of year Christmas concert. This year we are lucky to be working with Drew Lane who will work with each Year level to prepare and present their chosen song. Following the children's songs we will be drawing the winners of our Christmas raffle and our Parents & Friends will be sizzling some sausages and providing an icy treat for our children. Families are also invited to bring along their own snacks to eat on the night along with a picnic rug or blanket. Our fingers are of course tightly crossed that the weather is in our favour.

School Fees 2026

As communicated earlier there will be a slight increase in our family fee for next year and of course the normal increases in levies etc. I have included below a table showing the expected fees for each year level in 2026. As always fee support from MACS is available for those who qualify and I am happy to speak to any families facing financial challenges throughout the year.
