UNPLUG24

Skye Primary School has a zero-tolerance policy to online bullying and this year we are proud to support the Holdsworth family in promoting UNPLUG24.

Sadly, on October 24, 2023 Mac Holdsworth, a former Skye PS School Captain, took his own life at the age of 17. Since then, Mac's father Wayne has become a fierce advocate for age-limits on social media platforms and promoting education around online bullying. A number of prominent individuals have put their names to this day of action including Jess Mauboy, Corey Parker and Michelle Bridges.

UNPLUG24: HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED

What is UNPLUG 24?

Unplug24 is a national day of action where Australians will be encouraged to disconnect from social media for the day. By turning off social media for 24 hours, the hope is to show young people that there is more to life than what's online.

How can I take part?

Upload the below image to your social media account on October 24th and unplug for the day.
