Curriculum

Gareth Snow | Assistant Prinicipal

Dear Skye Community,

It has been my absolute pleasure starting the next chapter of my career here at Skye Primary. I must admit, I was not expecting to be slimed in my first week as Assistant Principal, but it was most certainly for a great cause.

I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and provide some insights into the newest member of the school’s leadership team. I have been in education for over a decade, leading curriculum in various areas for the past 7 years and most recently stepping into the role of Acting Assistant Principal at my former school. I have a huge passion for education and a very strong belief that every child can experience success in learning.

From a personal perspective, I am the proud father to 3 beautiful children, two boys and girl (5, 3 and 1 respectively). My eldest begins his journey into school next year and it really makes me reflect how fast the time goes. I am a big lover of sport and have spent a lifetime entrenched in sporting environments. I most recently made a return to playing competitive football after a knee injury, to which our team won the premiership. My body however informed me that it was not up for another season, and I have now retired from football.

My goal is to continue to challenge myself and staff to use the most evidenced informed practice that best provides the tools for students to learn best. In my short time here at Skye, it is clearly evident that there is a highly motivated, passionate team of teachers who work tirelessly to provide the best learning experience for your children, and I can’t wait to help support them to further develop their skills.

Thank you to the community members for being so welcoming and sharing a comforting ‘Hello’ or ‘Welcome to Skye’ when we have crossed paths. I am thoroughly looking forward to the journey ahead and hopefully being a part of strengthening your children’s already enjoyable experience at Skye P.S.

Regards,

Mr Snow
