The Next Fortnight of Learning

Literacy

Over the next week students will be continuing to edit and use rubrics to self-assess their writing. Students will be using peer feedback to up skill their Fables in preparation to share with the prep cohort.

Following this unit, we will be moving into the structures and features of explanation texts. Students will research an area of interest to write their own explanation texts which explain how something was created or how it works.

Maths

In the next fortnight of learning students will be looking at worded problems to develop strategies in financial maths. This will allow them to gain confidence in calculating change, GST, budgeting and represent money values in multiple ways. This includes recognising the relationship between dollars and cents and that this is not the case in all other countries. These activities will challenge students to solve multi-step problems in order to find solutions for missing numbers.

Inquiry

Our Term 4 Inquiry Unit is called Solids Liquids and Gases. Students began learning about the 3 states of matter (solids, liquids and gases) and conducted science experiments to further their understanding of these states. We look forward to continuing to conduct many fun science experiments this term!
