Our Learning -Term 4, Weeks 3 & 4

The Year 2 students and teachers have had a great start back to term four! We have got straight back into our classroom routines and making sure we are ready to learn and focus.

In our Literacy block we have immersed the students in persuasive writing. We have looked at a range of text and their persuasive features. Students are working hard on stating their opinion and giving evidence to support it.

During Maths we have looked at fact families and this week we have begun exploring fractions.

Throughout our SEL sessions, we are revisiting the expectations of students and looking at the matrix.

Here is a little bit of an insight about what the day is about.

Golden Valley's Adventure Camp is located on the Mornington Peninsula, in Flinders. Approximately a 1 hour drive from Hillsmeade PS. Our Year 2 students will experience a day of Camp, without the overnight aspect.

Students will participate in a range of outdoor activities, providing challenges & working on teamwork strategies. These may include Flying Fox, Ropes Course, Team Challenges & Sports. Students leave feeling encouraged, empowered and ready to face challenges with a greater confidence and belief in who they are!
