Our Learning -Term 4, Weeks 3 & 4

Year 1 students will be undertaking learning in the following areas over the next 2 weeks:

ReadingStudents continue to engage in literacy activities using the Little Learners Love Literacy program. We are revising the sounds we learnt last term as well as the sound 'le',  contractions, homonyms and homophones. The students will also be completing reading assessments with their teachers.
Writing Our writing is persuasive, learning about using strong words and forming strong opinions through cause and effect. The students will also be able to choose their own genre for a piece of writing in their free writing session.
MathsStudents are exploring time, learning about analogue and digital clocks, reading the time on both types of clocks, and showing half past, o'clock and quarter past and to.
InquiryStudents are enjoying learning about the farm-to-fork topic. They will be exploring dairy products, making butter from cream, and looking at crops and wheat products, making damper to learn more about it.
SELStudents are engaging in learning activities about the importance of keeping our hands to ourselves, and the dobbing vs tattling. 

 REMINDERS

Monday 4th Nov- Regular classes are notrunning, class teachers unavailable. Staff will be completing their Professional Practice Day. There will be some supervision provided as required. CANTEEN CLOSED. 

HATS: Students will be required to wear their hats. Please check if your child has their named hat at school. Students without hats are required to stay in an undercover area for sun protection.

Please complete the Big Goose Excursion payment and consent form on Compass for our farm excursion on Thursday 5th December. The students are very excited about our visit to the farm. More information will be provided closer to the event.
