Parking & Traffic Reminder

City of Casey message for families regarding: Unsafe practices by cars on the road.

Please find attached a letter for Hillsmeade PS families regarding the unsafe practices of cars on the roads around drop off and pick up time.

Complaints have been forwarded to the City of Casey from the general public and this is their response.

Please be vigilant, read this letter and make alterations to your actions where necessary.

We have received a number of parent complaints this term about the behaviour of drivers around the school during drop-off and pick-up times, and also about the number of parking spaces and how people use them. 

We encourage all families to be courteous and respectful around the school, both of other drivers but also of our neighbours. Please drive slowly and carefully to avoid an accident involving the many students walking around the school, especially in the soccer oval car park. 

Please note, if you have witnessed careless behaviour or have feedback about parking: unfortunately our ability to manage any issues is limited.

Everything outside of the school fence line is managed by the City of Casey, including the crossing attendants and the number/type of parking spaces. We have no input over the allocation of parking or management of traffic around the school.

We encourage you to direct your feedback to the City of Casey directly. They take it seriously and will usually send City of Casey traffic management officers out to manage the situation.
