Welcome back to Term 4! I hope everyone had a refreshing and rejuvenating break. It has been great to see all the students returning to school with such enthusiasm and bright smiles, ready to begin the new term.
This term, our students are engaging in a variety of exciting activities that enrich their learning experiences. We have students participating in valuable work experience programs, some honing their skills through coffee-making courses, and enjoying educational excursions and incursions. One standout event was the engaging session with 'Brainstorm Productions,' which focused on emotional regulation and provided our students with insightful and practical strategies. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students to explore this important topic in an interactive way.
This term promises to be filled with engaging learning opportunities, fun activities, and memorable events that will enrich our community. We are particularly looking forward to highlights such as our Year 12 Graduation and transitioning into our new classes. I am really looking forward to being a part of this exciting adventure.
As always, if you have any concerns or need further information, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher or the school.
Regards,
Bill Vasilevski
In the first two weeks of Term 4, students from Room 23 participated in ‘Seda Sport’ and watched ‘Stick and Stones’ a performance focused on mental health. Academically we have continued teaching the students about money, helping them understand and use it effectively. This Friday, they will apply these skills in our Mini Woolies simulation. We are especially proud of how the students care for one another, which is a key aspect of our classroom community.
We have successfully moved into the Yaluk Building. This was a very exciting time and move for JSA, especially Room 25. The boys have transitioned, adjusted and settled very well into their new room and building.
We have had some super fun days this semester, School Disco, performing in the ‘Around the World’ school concert, PBS sports day and Book Week to name a few.
Room 25 this year have been successfully applying themselves and expanding their exposure to the community and life concentrating on cross curricular lessons. We have incorporated money, grocery shopping, street awareness etc into our literacy and maths lessons.
