Book Club Morning Tea

On Thursday morning we celebrated our annual Book Club Morning Tea where regular Book Club members from Years 8-12 received their 2022 participation badge from Head of Library, Ms Maranne Purnell with the support of Library Officer Ms Su Pistorello.  This ‘pastry fest’ serves as a well-deserved celebration for students who have visited the Library fortnightly to discuss all things books, reading and beyond.

Graduating Year 12 student Lucas Weston delivered a short speech for the occasion where he discussed his fond memories of Book Club over the years. He imparted some sage advice to younger Book Club Members:

"Lads in the younger years, my advice to you Book clubs are about more than just the books we read; they're about the community we build. When we come together to share ideas, we get to learn from each other, appreciate different perspectives, and create lasting friendships. It’s a space where everyone’s voice matters, and we all grow from being open, respectful, and curious. Keep an open mind, encourage each other, and enjoy the journey of exploring new worlds together."

It was a pleasure to welcome our graduating Year 12 Book Clubbers for the occasion who leave the college as the largest Book Club cohort in TC library history.
