Growing every day

A distinct characteristic of our Year 7 and 8 cohorts is their continued participation in activities which extend beyond the classroom. Whether these are co-curricular opportunities, year group social events, interschool carnivals or other day-to day- impromptu activities such as an Inspired Minds lesson out in Perth (pictured). It is therefore no surprise that their connection with the school community  continues to grow.

On Monday we cheered on 46 Year 7 and 8 students who positively represented our school in the Associated and Catholic Colleges Athletics Carnival today and we know they enjoyed the day.

As the weather begins to show signs of a change towards spring, or Djilba, a reminder that winter uniform is to be worn through to the end of Term Three. This includes ties and blazers. Wearing a blazer is compulsory at chapel each Monday. If students have lost uniform items, they should first check the ever growing pile of lost property at Reception.

Year 8 ten-pin social

Our Year 8 social event was held on Thursday at Strike Bowling and once again this proved to be popular event, with most of the cohort choosing to attend. After an early departure from classes, we descended onto the venue where the cohort was split into two groups. One group donned fluorescent bowling shoes and took to the bowling lanes with enthusiasm. The second group challenged their friends on the arcade games with the virtual reality headsets, basketball throw and the strength test sparking healthy competition within friendship groups.

At the midway point of the event, we took a short break and the students enjoyed pizza, hot chips and soft drinks before a change over in activities. It was a wonderful way to bring Week 8, Term Three to a close and our Year 8s should be proud of their conduct while at the venue.
