We are thrilled to share the success of the ATAR drama showcase ‘Crikey’, an event that highlighted the talent and dedication of our Year 12 Drama students. Held Downstairs at The Maj, the showcase served as both a celebration of their hard work and a critical component of their final assessment preparations.
Each student delivered professional, creative and powerful performances - from intense monologues to complex ensemble scenes, with each piece reflecting the students' understanding of their characters and the themes they explored.
In addition to their acting prowess, the students demonstrated a high level of professionalism, managing all aspects of the performance — from sound design to prop and costume choices. This comprehensive approach to theatre-making ensured that the showcase was not only a platform for individual expression but also a collaborative effort that brought the entire drama cohort together.
The feedback from the audience, which included parents, teachers, and industry professionals, was overwhelmingly positive. Many remarked on the maturity and depth of the performances, noting that our students are well-prepared for the challenges of the upcoming WACE exams.
A special congratulations to our APEx MCs — Alex, Jess, and Tim — who kept the evening flowing with their engaging and comedic presentations. Their witty commentary and seamless transitions between performances added an extra layer of entertainment, ensuring that the audience remained engaged and delighted throughout the night.
This showcase was a true testament to the hard work and commitment of our Year 12 Drama students, as well as the support and guidance provided by our dedicated drama teachers. We are incredibly proud of their achievements and look forward to their continued success in the final stages of their ATAR journey.
ATAR Drama Mock Practical Exams
Our Year 12 ATAR Drama students had the opportunity to travel to ECU Mount Lawley for their Mock Practical exams. This collaboration with the university's facilities and staff allowed students to experience a professional performance environment similar to the WACE exams. Each student showcased their hard work and dedication, performing exceptionally well. These exams were a crucial step in their final
preparations, allowing them to make the necessary refinements before the upcoming WACE assessments.
