Amazing originals, mashups and covers

The Battle of the Bands competition - at Planet Royale in Northbridge last week - saw nine student bands and three House bands aim for the title of champion.

The night was filled with amazing performances of originals, mashups and covers.

The winning student band was No Pun Intended (pictured below) with their original ‘Photonic Boom’ as well as a cover of Malignant Narcissism by Rush.

Lincoln Band
Lincoln Band

The reigning House band was Lincoln, with a 56-point mashup of Joker and the Thief (Wolfmother), Zebra (John Butler Trio) and What’s My Scene (Hoodoo Gurus). This performance was a spectacular crowd-pleaser and had the whole audience and backstage singing along. This was the last performance for us Year 12s and the experience will be thoroughly missed. Congratulations for an entertaining and melodious night to everyone who performed.
