School Wide Positive Behaviour Support

This is an update on some of the ways Hamlyn Views School has been promoting positive behaviours:

  • Roaming Monty Shop - students from Secondary have taken responsibility for taking the Monty Shop trolley around to classrooms. The secondary students have helped students count how many Monty Dollars they have, shown them what they can purchase from the range of options, and explained how they have earned their dollars - by demonstrating the values of the school! Well done Secondary students for helping promote positive behaviours at Hamlyn Views.
  • Video Modelling - one way to teach different behaviours and values of our school is to use videos of students demonstrating these behaviours. Secondary students have helped film students engaging in respectful, safe, and learning behaviours, which students will enjoy watching and will help them learn expected behaviours and values of our school.
  • Induction - all new staff at Hamlyn Views are inducted on how we use Positive Behaviour strategies to promote positive behaviour at school. Staff learn about strategies such as giving positive praise, organising engaging learning materials, organising clutter-free classrooms, and the use of our token-economy reward system.
