THANKS FOR AN AMAZING TERM OF WORK TO EVERYONE INVOLVED IN GRADE 1/2 S
I wish all the students and families a relaxing and enjoyable holiday break. Here are some thoughts on why it's important to take a break from all our work and recharge our batteries, with some ideas for cheap/free ideas to try at home during the holidays.
School holidays are a great time for families to rest and recharge. For primary school students, it’s essential to take a break from the busy routines of the school year and enjoy quality time with family. To ensure your children return to school refreshed, aim for a balance between relaxation and fun activities. Encourage outdoor play, reading, or creative projects at home to stimulate their minds without the pressure of schoolwork.
Here are five free activities to try at home during the holidays:
- Create a backyard treasure hunt – let your kids explore and search for hidden items.
- Build a blanket fort – a cozy space for reading or imaginative play.
- Have a family game night – use board games or create your own.
- DIY art projects – use recycled materials to make crafts.
- Cook together – involve the kids in preparing simple meals or snacks.
These activities are great ways to relax, bond, and enjoy the holidays together.

Yarra Junction Library Visit & Teddy Bears Picnic Fun
Last week the F/1/2 students visited the Library for a story time session with Rachel! We danced and sang and of course, read lots of books with our teddies! After this, we headed to the park for a Teddy Bear Scavenger hunt and a Teddy Bears Picnic! Of course, we made sure to eat some Teddy bear biscuits and gummy bears! It was a wonderful day had by all!
