Southern SATIS Soccer Finals Gala

Congratulations to all members of Team sVc who participated in the Southern SATIS Soccer Finals Gala on Wednesday 25 September at Warrior Park.

There were some amazing skills and determination on show throughout the afternoon and into the evening, however, it wasn't our day, losing all three finals.

Year 7 Div 2 - MacKillop 1 defeated sVc Gold 0

Year 8 Div 1 - MacKillop Blue 1 defeated SVC Blue 0

Year 9 Div 1 - Friends' Blue 3 defeated SVC Blue 0

Thank you to Olympia F.C. Warriors for hosting the finals and to SATIS and all match officials.

Lastly, a big shout out to our dedicated staff who coached the boys throughout the term and turned up yesterday in numbers to support our students.

We now look forward to the first week of Term 4 when the Year 7 Div 1 final between SVC Blue and Hutchins Black will be played at Warrior Park. Details to be confirmed.

State SATIS Swimming

Well done to Team sVc at last week's State SATIS Swimming Carnival conducted in Hobart. All students gave their all and represented the College with pride.

With lots of close places across the board for students, the highlight of the day was Year 12 Student Athlete Samuel Nadler (in his last representative carnival for the College) taking out the win in the Open 50m Freestyle in a hotly contested race. Sam also finished 2nd in the 100m Free and 3rd in the 50m Fly. A great last meet for Sam.

The U16 4 x 50m Freestyle Relay including Riley Stocks, Oliver Byrne, Harry Costello and Charlie Cubit also took the win in a fantastic race.

Shields:

Boys Junior - 7th

Boys Senior - 3rd

Boys Aggregate - 6th

Well done boys.

Sabot Sailing

Thanks to the Royal Yacht Club of Tasmania and our dedicated team of volunteers and parents who allowed our Development Sailing students to participate in a Sabot training weekend at Miena recently.

The students were put through their paces in a range of weather conditions and came away with lots of new skills and confidence in a Sabot.

Well done to all involved.

Rowing - Year 6 Come and Try

Despite less-than-ideal weather, our Year 6 students teamed up with some of our Senior rowers last week to experience the sport of rowing.

They learned new techniques both in the gym and on the water, took part in an ergo relay, and wrapped up the day with a BBQ.

A big thank you to the incredible coaches and Senior students who made it a fun and rewarding morning. Thanks to Susan Weeding for her coordination of the day.

Hockey Finals

Congratulations to Team sVc for finishing in 3rd place in the (Div 3 - 7/8) Hockey Tasmania Schools Roster play-off last week, defeating Hutchins Gold 4-1.
